William Drayton Kendrick

William Drayton Kendrick, age 79, of Hazel Green, KY, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Hospice Care Center, Hazard, KY. Born on September 21, 1946, in Pikeville, KY, he is the son of Franklin Pierce Kendrick and Creasie Hopkins Kendrick. He was a member of the Crossroad Baptist Church, Hazel Green, KY; a retired coal miner; and served two tours during Vietnam. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Surviving are his four children, Charly Kendrick & spouse Glenn, Drayton Kendrick & spouse Brenda Kendrick, Malinda Cole & spouse Travis Cole, and Larry Kendrick & spouse Nicole Kendrick. Special friends: Charlotte Kendrick, Timothy Keeton. K.H. Risner & Mark Risner. Siblings Kathleen Pruitt, Patrica Golf, Loretta Kendrick, Audrey McCoy, Franklin Kendrick, Johnny Richard Kendrick, and David Kendrick. Five grandchildren: Sekala ‘Paige’ Kendrick, Elizabeth Binder, Emilee Kendrick, Candy Cole, Seth Kendrick. Three great-grandchildren: Abraham Binder, Augustus Binder, and one on the way.

Preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Pierce Kendrick & Creasie Hopkins Kendrick. Wife Linda Kendrick; one great-grandchild Charity Rose Binder; and his siblings Edith Prater, Robert Kendrick, Nada Jean Adkins, Nadine Kendrick, Connie Kendrick, Wilma Lee Cole, Jerry Kendrick, Elizabeth Kendrick, and Doug Kendrick.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Crossroad Baptist Church, 15959 Hwy 191, Hazel Green, KY 41332, with Bro. K.H. Risner and Bro. Mark Risner with messages of comfort to the family. Interment in Kenderick Family Cemetery, Helechawa, KY, with military honors by Morehead American Legion Post #126

Visitation: 6 pm, Monday, at Crossroad Baptist Church, Hwy 191, Hazel Green, KY. Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY, is in care of arrangements.
