Wilma (Lewis) Adkins

Wilma Jean Lewis Adkins, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Burial will follow at Arthur Lewis Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. in West Liberty, Kentucky, with Rev. Phillip Ferguson officiating.

Ms. Adkins was born in West Liberty, Kentucky, on October 9, 1954. She graduated from Morgan County High School in 1972. She retired after a wonderful career as a secretary at Jim Beam where she served 18 years and made many wonderful friendships while there. She was loved by many and her pleasant personality was contagious to all who met her. Wilma loved being with her family and was always happy, positive, and had a smile. She enjoyed shopping and traveling and seeing the beauty of the world and all life had to offer. Above all, she loved and cared for her family dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Samples; mother, Thelma Lewis Adkins; siblings, Sheila Raymer (O.J), Sharon Lewis (Keith), Shirley Lewis (Barry), Dean Lewis (Vicci), and Jerry Lewis; and grandchildren, Ashlynn Samples and Austin Samples. She was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and by her beloved dog, Libby.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Lewis and siblings, Jackie Lewis, Laverne Lewis, Marvin Lewis, and Charles Lewis, Jr.

Graveside services will be 3:00pm,Thursday,January 5,2023 at Arthur Lewis Cemetery, West Liberty, KY with Rev. Phillip Lewis officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Curry, Austin Samples, Barry Lewis, Keith Lewis, Zach Whitt, and Kenny Adkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Lewis, Jerry Lewis, and Bob McClain.
