Woodrow (Pete) Adkins, age 76, of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 4,2021 at his home after a brief illness. Born January 13,1945 in Salyersville, KY, a son of William Henry Adkins and Dora Nickell Adkins. He was a retired farmer. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior.
Surviving are his wife Vernie Kay Holbrook Adkins of West Liberty,KY, One daughter, Melinda (Jerry) Cantrell of Morehead, KY. One son, Henry (Jennifer) Adkins of West Liberty, KY. Three sisters, Ruby Wingo of West Liberty, KY. Ruth (Jim) Waugh of Cecilia, KY. Anna Mae (James) Leach of Mt. Sterling, KY. Six grandchildren: Henry Clay Adkins, Hunter Cole Adkins, John Walker Adkins, Joy Beth Adkins, Jerria Mae Cantrell, Morgan Renee Cantrell. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Dora Nickell Adkins. One sister, Ruie Adkins and one brother, Hershell Adkins, brother-in-law, Albert J.Wingo, two half-sisters, Jean Allen and Ida Grey Montgomery, and one half-brother, James Adkins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Friday, May 7,2021 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Karl Elam officiating. Burial in the Adkins Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation will be 11:30am Friday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Clay Adkins, Cole Adkins, Walker Adkins, Donald Holbrook, Ronnie Pelfrey, James Leach, Jerry Cantrell.
